About the event
People have been weaving since the stone age using foraged materials.
Done by hand, slow weaving can be a prayerful and meditative practice with calming and healing benefits.
In our weaving weekend we will use very simple tools along with salvaged yarns and fabrics to create our own woven Psalm 23 - our life story held together in a framework of God's love. All materials will be provided but please bring along some fabrics or yarns which are meaningful to you. This retreat is suitable for complete beginners - all instruction will be provided.
Anne-Marie writes, 'I'm a part-time parish priest, part-time textile artist with a love of turning discarded yarn and scraps into practical stuff and meaningful art - sometimes both at the same time.'
