Let Go and Let God

Using the story of Bartimeaus alongside creative, quiet led Biblical reflections, we will explore ways in which we come to God, and how meeting with Jesus has the potential to transform lives.    Participants will be supported to respond prayerfully through individual hand stitched journalling, allowing colours, threads and textures to speak as we ponder what God may be saying to us. There will be supportive space to be creative, listen, reflect, and receive from God. The emphasis will be on allowing the power of God’s gift of creativity to draw us closer to Himself, rather than on a polished finished product. 

All materials will be provided, but if you have your own sewing kit or threads that you prefer to use, then please do bring them with you.

About Karen:

Your retreat guide will be Karen Herrick, from Harlequin Arts who will be leading and supporting you throughout the retreat. 

Karen is a freelance artist-educator, delivering creative sessions for wellbeing across many sectors of the community. 

She enjoys enabling and inspiring others to be creative, facilitating connections through creativity and contemplation - combining teaching skills with her love of colour, textiles, and Christian faith. 

She is part of the Derby Diocese spiritual accompanier training course team and enjoys supporting others to draw closer to God through both her art and creative quiet days and retreats. 

She stitches stories of faith through textile art and writes a blog “Sanctuary in Stitch”, journaling her spiritual journey in stitch.
