The Revd Christopher Perrins

Having always been interested in art, Christopher painted his first icon in 2005 - of Christ Pantocrator - on a course at St John’s Tuebrook in Liverpool.

After then painting a couple more icons on courses in Liverpool he began the Diploma in Icon and Wall Painting through The Prince’s School of Traditional Arts in 2009.  This lead to a deeper understanding of icons, placing them in their historical and liturgical contexts, and developing techniques in painting, gilding, and the other skills needed to produce professional work.

Since ordination to the Diaconate in 2003 and Priesthood in 2004, Christopher was in stipendiary parish ministry in the Diocese of Liverpool, in parishes in Warrington, Walton, and Rainhill until 2015.  He continues to help out in a number of parishes but is now able to spend more time on icons.
